Following the controversy surrounding Barcelona's Champions League clash with Real Madrid last week, coach Pep Guardiola has enforced a media blackout on his players and staff.

UEFA are planning to take action against the El Clasico clubs following their semi-final first leg, and they are due to  again in the second leg at the Camp Nou on Tuesday night.

It has been reported in Marca that the ex-defensive midfielder Guardiola has imposed a code of silence on the Blaugrana staff and banned appearances in front of the media in order to prevent any further sanctions or damming reports ahead of El Clasico number five of the season.

This approach has been adopted by the Catalan coach on previous occasions, namely after the side's trip to take on Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine in the previous round of the competition.

Guardiola himself appeared in front of the media before the club's La Liga tie with Real Sociedad this weekend, but, as has been reported on Goal.com, was reluctant to discuss the Madrid tie.
